In this day and age, I've had it up to here with people who liked the "commercial-driven" 1980s-1990s shows being branded "blinded by nostalgia and rose-tinted glasses". I think anyone who uses that card is fuelled entirely by personal insecurity over their own tastes not being the same as everyone elses, and thus has to belittle those people.

I recently rewatched several classic episodes of M.A.S.K in a row, and there head and shoulders above others shows today. It's not "nostalgia", not "rose tinted glasses", it was genuine enjoyment of something with a little heart and a little effort.

Let's talk blasphemy for a minute...TMNT 23K doesnt hold up as much (I love season one, but season two is garbage, and season three doesnt pick up immediatly in between The Triceraton and Dimension jumping arcs) Batman: TAS itself doesnt hold up as much (but 60% of it still awesome), yet I do not go around saying "Well, nostalgia's not all that great buddy", no, I respect that someone can find enjoyment and something a little more subtle in something they like. If you find, say, ALL of the DCAU worth it still, I won't judge you and label you "brainwashed". I'm not some insecure jabroni.

Everything has a positive and a negative, and it doesnt boil down to "I want a toy". Watch TF G1's "The God Gambit", watch TMNT's "Corporate Raiders from Dimension X", and then come back and tell me they have no substance

They can go ahead and call us "brainwashed", call us "blinded by nostalgia", we all know who has the problem, I truley pity anyone who's dopey enough to think the way they do.

People like that ought to grow up.
